Styles
The bodywork style I use depends on your goals for our session, but in general, my style is slow, meditative, and intentional. I work superficial to deep, easing the body into a deep state of relaxation before deep work begins. My goal is for all clients to leave feeling refreshed and limber.
Relaxation (Swedish) Massage
Relaxation massage is designed to help you relax and feel more at ease in your body and mind by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). In these sessions, I use a combination of relaxing techniques including Swedish massage, myofascial release, guided breathwork, and assisted stretching or gentle range of motion.
Targeted Therapeutic Massage
Targeted sessions emphasize deep tissue work to address specific problem areas in your body. In these sessions, I take time to warm up the tissue using techniques including myofascial release and Swedish strokes, then use long holds to sink deep into the specific muscles causing trouble. I also use assisted stretching and proprioceptic neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) to work out stubborn tension.
Targeted Therapeutic Massage with Relaxation
Get the best of all worlds! These sessions begin with a focus on your problem area and leave time for gentle, nourishing relaxation.

Modalities
Swedish Massage
Slow, smooth, gliding strokes to promote relaxation and ease muscle tension. This modality promotes lymph flow, improves circulation, helps manage pain, improves sleep, and can help decrease feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety.
Deep Tissue
The modality that hurts-so-good. Deep tissue uses pointed pressure to sink deep into muscle tissues to eradicate long-held tension.
Myofascial Release
Superficial (close to the skin) work that focuses on the connective tissue (fascia) surrounding and running through muscles, which can become tight or stuck.
Proprioceptic neuromuscular facilitation (PNF)
A form of active-release that helps the body relax by gently activating and then stretching specific muscles.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Very gentle massage that focuses on circulating lymph, which sits beneath the skin. This is great for post-op care.
Prenatal
Gentle work for the gestating body. These sessions take place after the first trimester and use gentle techniques to ease tension in the body. Side-laying is used to access the back of the body, and plenty of pillows for comfort.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are muscle “knots” that can cause pain in one or more places in the body. Trigger points can be a little intense to release, but I try to make the work as comfortable as possible.
Sports Massage
Often performed clothed, this style uses a combination of myofascial release, deep tissue, PNF, trigger point therapy, and assisted stretching to work out tension.
Reiki
A form of energy healing that removes blockages in the energy body, which may be manifesting in your body, mind, or spirit in different ways. It’s like a massage for your soul.
